Telling people that you are getting married soon is very much like wearing a silly hat. You feel divorced from everybody else's experience and people speak to you differently. The fact that you are still the same person under the hat seems to make little difference.
Don't take me the wrong way here - I don't want to bring down the mood of the blog or anything. I just get a little frustrated about it all.
Worst of all, people keep telling me about what things will be like after we're married. Please, just stop projecting and be happy for us. In fact, that's what I want my wedding presents to be. If you don't know what to get us, just tell us whenever it feels appropriate that you're happy for us and you support us. I guarantee that my face will light up, and big hugs will be coming your way.

At the end of the day, none of it really matters, all that stuff. This silly hat I'm wearing? It's mine. Nobody can take my hat away. I love this silly hat so much that I'll be happy to wear it forever.
